Monday U-12 (As of June 30th - Birthdates July 1st 2013 or later.) Register U12 curlers for the Monday option. They will be placed accordingly based on age and experience indicated on registration.)
Little Rockers: This program is for curlers aged 5-7. Curlers will spend time both on and off the ice participating in fun, age-appropriate drills and games. On-ice instruction will introduce curlers to basic skills. Off-ice time will have kids actively moving while developing physical skills like balance and core strength essential to curling. Curlers will receive instruction from trained coaches but parent volunteers are required to fill various roles including additional supervision on and off the ice.
Time: Monday 4:00-5:15
Dates: Fall Session: Oct-Dec: specific dates posted on Member’s Calendar
Winter Session: Jan-March: specific dates posted on Member’s Calendar
Equipment required: clean pair of shoes (Preferably, shoes should have a soft rubber grip as hard plastic soles are slippery on ice. Skateboard shoes work well although there are other soft-sole shoes that work well too. The shoes a curler wears to the rink cannot be the same shoes they wear on the ice. There is space inside the rink to put on clean shoes), a properly fitting helmet (ski, bike, or hockey) or sport specific head protection, and gloves (Mini-mitts with rubber patterns on the palm like the ones you can purchase at dollar stores work great.) Curlers should wear pants that have ample stretch to them. Curlers should also wear a few layers (shirt, jacket, etc) as it can be cool on the ice.
Fee: $60 Okotoks Curling Club Membership plus $160 League full year league fee
(If space permits and the program is not full with full-year curlers, there may be openings for just Fall and/or Winter sessions. Each session is $100 plus membership. Membership only needs to be paid once per year.)

Curlers will receive instruction from trained coaches but parent volunteers are required to fill various roles including additional supervision on the ice.

Rock Stars: This program is for curlers who have completed Learn To Curl (or one year of curling in another club). In this program, curlers will develop their skills while following the Curling Canada Rock Stars program which focuses on skill development through drills and mini games. While we will follow the Curing Canada Rock Stars program, we will also have weeks where kids just play games using the skills developed in the program. Curlers will receive instruction from trained coaches but parent volunteers are required to fill various roles including additional supervision on and off the ice.

Winter Session: Jan-March: specific dates posted on Member’s Calendar
Equipment required: Curlers will need to supply their own footwear. Curling shoes (with a slip on gripper to cover the slider when sweeping) are encouraged as curling shoes have better sliders than the slip on sliders. This allows curlers to slide further and faster with less effort which helps their stability and their ability to throw rocks further. It also helps to speed up game play. If curling shoes are not an option, clean, soft-sole shoes with a gripper are acceptable. Curlers are also encouraged to have their own broom as it helps their delivery if they have consistency with a broom. They also need a helmet or sport specific headwear. Curlers should wear pants that have ample stretch to them. Curlers should also wear a few layers (shirt, jacket, etc) as it can be cool on the ice. Gloves are optional.
Curler’s Corner (located in the Calgary Curling Club) has a good selection of shoes and brooms and is a tremendous supporter of youth curling. Occasionally, shoes and brooms can be found at local sporting good stores or at second-hand thrift stores.
