Types of Membership
The Okotoks Curling Club has both adult & youth membership options. Our season runs from October through March, with some leagues split into fall and winter sessions.
Adult membership is for players age 18 and over that play in any of our regular leagues.
Junior membership is for young curlers between the ages of 5 and 21. Juniors have the option to register in either the experienced & beginning competitive program held on Thursdays or the beginner and non-competitive program that runs on Mondays.
Adult Membership Leagues
We have a variety of different leagues to fit your experience, skill and personal preference.
Monday Morning Ladies | 9:30 AM Draw
A fun, relaxed league where teams ar drawn randomly to encourage socialization with other curlers. Preference for position is given wherever possible. As this is a very casual league, the first round runs until Christmas then we mix it up by drawing new teams for the second round in the new year. New curlers welcome.
Monday Evening Open | 6:45 PM & 9 PM Draws
24 team league encompasses a wide variety of skill levels and includes three divisions with a chance to move up or down depending on the outcome of games played. Any combination of players welcome.
Tuesday Morning Senior Men’s | 9:30 AM & 11:15 AM Draws
A social league open to all curlers 50 years and older (as of June 30, 2019). This league is split into two full sessions to accommodate snowbirds. The fall session runs from October to mid-December, and winter session runs from January to March. Registered curlers submit their desired positions and the executive draws up teams for each session.
Tuesday Evening Men’s | 6:45 & 9 PM Draws
Competitive men’s league with a total of 24 teams grouped into A, B and C divisions. Early registration is recommended as this league fills up quickly.Ends Feb. 25, 2020
Wednesday Morning Grey Owl | 10 AM Draw
Competitive Masters / Seniors league open to all curlers 50 years and older. We welcome Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Teams. Competition begins the first Wednesday following Thanksgiving and is completed by mid to late January depending upon the number of teams entered. The League was initially set up to act as a warm up for teams planning on entering the Provincial Senior and/or Masters play-downs.
Wednesday Evening Ladies | 6:30 PM & 8:45 PM Draws
Our evening ladies league embraces players with a variety of skill levels, following an A and B division format with a chance to move up or down depending on the outcomes of games played. Early registration is recommended as this 24 team league fills up quickly.

Thursday Evening Open | 6:45 PM & 9 PM Draws
Part of the OCC since 1984, this is a fun and competitive league, comprised of mostly mixed and men’s teams with all levels of curling abilities. In order to make it fun and competitive for all teams, a round robin format is played and then split into A, B and C divisions. This league is always looking for spares!
Thursday Evening Men’s | 6:45 PM & 9 PM Draws
This is a twelve team competitive men’s league alternating early and late draws on Thursday evenings. There is typically two round robin draws in the year plus some playoffs. Seeding by win loss records after the first round robin promotes closer competition in the second round. We have a Christmas and Year End social event to celebrate our successes.
Friday Morning Ladies

Friday Evening Mixed | 6:45 PM & 9 PM Draws
A fun and competitive way to spend a Friday evening! Teams are comprised of 2 males and 2 females, alternating positions. There are three divisions in the league, allowing for movement based on the number of wins and losses. All skill levels welcome!

Monday Junior Curling Academy | Ages 5-12
Beginner and non-competitive program for kids that includes fun activities, drills, safety on ice and two end games.Our goal is to guide the young curler through skill levels to develop strong basic technical curling skills and knowledge and to provide a fun and safe environment while instilling a love of the game of curling. We want our young curlers to feel a sense of belonging to the curling club community as we would love to see them develop into life long curlers.
Tuesday Competitive Junior Academy | U-21, U-18, U-15 Eligible
20 weeks of competitive training, beginning September 24, 2019 to February 25, 2020. Participants will train every Tuesday from 4-6 PM. Includes on-ice & off-ice sessions, technical, tactical, fitness, nutrition, mental training, team development, communication systems, goal setting & annual planning.
Thursday Junior Curling Academy | Ages 11-17
Experienced & beginning competitive program for kids that focuses on technical skill refinement, video analysis, strategy sessions and game play in a fun and safe environment.
